Dr. Robert West grew up and went to school in Melbourne, and graduated in Medicine at Melbourne University.
Ophthalmic training was at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, and at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Hospitals in England,
achieving Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Royal College of Surgeons (England), and Royal Australian and
New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.
Robert has worked in private practice in Melbourne and held appointments at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (Glaucoma Investigation
and Research Unit), and Alfred Hospital Eye Unit (including time as Head of both Units). He has a special interest in the non-surgical treatment of glaucoma and in general ophthalmology.
